In The News

Hurray!  The SCPC is absolutely thrilled to announce that we will be publishing our very own monthly newsletter.  Thanks to the consideralble talents and extreme generosity of Bev and Tom Lewis, who have graciously offered their publishing services, we will finally have a newsletter of our own to represent our club and it's members.  It will be chock full of club news, interesting and informative articles, fun and amusing stories, regular features such as "Ask A Vet" and so, so much more.  Look for the launch issue in early March.   Our new newsletter needs a new name and we are putting it out to you to help us come up with one.  Therefore we've decided to hold a contest within the club.  You may submit as many entries as you wish and the winning name will be selected by the Executive Committee,  Aside from bragging rights, the winner will recieve a fantastic prize.  The winning name will b revealed in the April issue of the new newsletter.

Krista Brodeur joins the SCPC |Executive Committee.   Krista will be acting as a social convenor with a special emphasis on promotion and accessability.  Krista brings to the club a keen perspective on issues surrounding accessability as well as a fresh perspective on club promotion.  Thank you Krista and welcome to the SCPC Executive.

SCPC welcomes Allison Bain and Bev Lewis to the Executive Committee.  Allison has  graciously agreed to act as a Social Convenor and Bev has taken on the enormous task of publishing the YRPC/SCPC Gazette.  Bev will also be found milling about with her trusty camera at the ready to snap photos of us having fun at our meetings and special events.  Thank you both for donating your time, energy and talents to the club.

The SCPC / YRPC members have been invited back to the Waterford Retirement Centre.  We have been there on a couple of occasions in the past and have enjoyed these visits immensly.  Large groups of residents of this beautiful facility have turned out to see us and were enhralled by all the beautiful birds.  We were amazed by the huge array of excellent and pertinent questions they presented.to us   A great time was had by all that participated.  Our next visit is Scheduled for Wednesday, February 3rd at 7pm.  Let's make this the best visit ever.  The more birds we can bring the more the seniors will enjoy it.  So come out and join us.... You won't regret it!

We are currenty hard at work planning a couple of exciting field trips for our two clubs.  We hope to announce them by the March Meetings.  These outings are to take place sometime during the fair weather months.  Stay tuned for details....
